Christmas wrapup

Christmas went really well, we had a wonderful time
celebrating both alone, just the three of us, and
with Paul's family in the afternoon and evening. We
woke up at about 7am and made coffee, lit candles,
and fed and dressed Amelia. Paul and I happily
remained in our pajamas. We opened gifts and listened
to Christmas music and thought of family far away.
David picked us up at about 1pm and we headed over to Paul's parents' house to celebrate with them. More gifts, a bit of champagne (though I had a heavy cold so couldn't really enjoy it) and then a delicious meal. We had the traditional British Christmas dinner -- turkey, roasted potatoes, gravy, parsnips, carrots, red cabbage, stuffing, and pigs-in-blankets (small sausages wrapped in bacon). Pat did a fantastic job and we were all stuffed. Amelia sat at the table with us, in her high chair, and behaved extremely well. She just sat there looking at the twinkling Christmas lights and candles and laughing at us every now and again. It was magical. The grownups played Trivial Pursuit for the remainder of the night, having a very good time. I was at a disadvantage since there were lots of British-specific questions, but Paul had the same treatment when he was in the US so he said it's only fair.
We attended another Christmas party on the 27th with Matt and Lisa, a bit south of London in a town called Horsham. Lisa's parents had invited us down to share in their family's celebration and we were so pleased to be there. There were about 15 people at this party so a bit more the crowd I'm used to. We had a lovely meal and then played games and listened to Lisa's dad and brother play guitar and her mother sing. Another great evening. Photos of that can be seen under Friends, Martin Christmas.
Christmas pictures are cross-filed under Millie *and* under Family. Videos are listed under December and Christmas.
I hope you all had very Merry Christmases and a Happy New Year!
