Times, they are a changin'
Amelia has been coming on leaps and bounds in the last few weeks. She's still crawling all over the place and standing up every chance she gets, without assistance. Won't be long before she takes her first steps I'll bet! She's getting into EVERYTHING and we're having to do some serious baby proofing now. She loves to get underneath the table where we can't easily get to her and have to crawl on our bellies to reach her. Needless to say, I've been having to keep the floors extra clean so she doesn't eat dirt and we don't get it on our clothes.

She's clapping her hands and waving bye bye and making ear-piercing shrieking noises that are a joy to listen to, especially when we're out in public. Ha ha. She has begun to display a bit of a temper and now gets upset if we take something away from her or won't allow her to do something (like touch the heater or spin the dial on the washing machine). Could this be the very early stages of the terrible twos? Both Paul and I were little terrors so I can only imagine what kind of karma is awaiting us. Lord, give me strength!

Amelia is outgrowing the two play groups we go to on Wednesdays and Fridays as she's so mobile and active now that I spend teh entire session just making sure she doesn't accidentally maul other, smaller babies. She played with all the toys and the room is getting a bit small for her so after this month, we're going to have to find a new group. I'm taking her to Tumbletots on Thursday mornings now and I've made enough 'mommy friends' that I have someone to meet up with for a coffee and a play date every week. Tomorrow we're going to the local YMCA with our babies so they can explore the soft play area while we chat. A bunch of us mothers went out to dinner last week without our children so we could get to know each other outside of only baby talk. It was a good night out and we're now going to do it every month.

Paul recently returned from a business trip to Kazahkstan (that's where his company is based) so we're just catching up together and getting the house back in order. We've got some busy times up ahead -- Paul's birthday is next Friday (23rd) so we're going over to Pat and Bruce's for dinner that evening and then will go out with friends either the following night or the weekend after that. Andrea arrives on March 1st --YAY!!!--and is staying until the 11th. We're so excited to spend some time with her and I can't wait for her to see how much Millie has changed and grown.

Oh, speaking of growing, she got two more teeth the other day, which brings the total up to 10. They're back teeth as well -- molars maybe? The girl has some serious chompers. A tooth for every month old she is. I know babies her age who still don't have any, or only a couple!

We've had to take down the monthly picture and video folders because it was overloading our site and making it run really slowly when we try to update (hence our sparse posts) so we've created a 'best of' album, if you will, for each. If you'd like a copy of all the 2006 videos and pictures, drop us an email at amity@2pies.com and we'll burn a disc for you and send it in the mail. New January pics and videos, as usual, and a couple new ones under Friends, Sunday Lunch at Tim's (see Amelia's first kiss from a boy!).

Love to all,

Amity, Paul and Amelia
